Family Promise Union County (FPUC) is honored to announce that for the first time, we have been awarded funding through the HOME Investment Partnerships American Rescue Plan from the Union County Department of Economic Development for Support Services. This funding aims to reduce homelessness, increase housing stability and address the lack of available affordable housing. The program is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and implemented by states and local housing authorities. Our award, in the amount of $300,000, is needed to provide households with funding for short-term rental assistance and flexible financial assistance.

"Family Promise Union County has stood beside families in their hardest moments," said Peter Jacob, Executive Director of FPUC. "This grant strengthen that promise - helping neighbors remain rooted in the safety of home, shielding families from the upheaval of homelessness, and preserving the stability every household deserves."

We serve families with children in Union County by providing flexible financial assistance to prevent housing loss and to support rapid placement into permanent housing. With this funding, families will receive individualized case management services and we'll provide short- to medium-term rental assistance which gives families additional time and financial stability to quickly transition toward self-sufficiency.

Forty years ago, Family Promise began its mission to assist families with children experiencing homelessness. By partnering with houses of worship, local businesses, and many generous individuals, together we've built an agency that truly keeps The Promise, fostering self-sufficiency and helping households achieve and maintain permanent housing quickly.

If you are or know a family in need that can benefit from this grant opportunity, contact Claire Boylan, Manager of Prevention Services, at cboylan@familypromiseuc.org.
